Severity scale
How HCF rates severity
- CriticalExploitable remotely with little or no interaction; serious impact on many users. Fix or mitigate immediately.
- HighSignificant impact, but needs specific conditions or some interaction. Fix promptly.
- MediumLimited impact or hard to exploit. Fix in a normal update.
- LowMinor impact; defence-in-depth improvements. Fix when convenient.
What an advisory contains
Every advisory will include
- Affected products and versions
- Exactly which FortiFind or HCF products, and which versions, are affected.
- Severity
- Critical, High, Medium or Low, with the reasoning behind the rating.
- What to do
- The fixed version, or a workaround if no fix is available yet.
- Credit
- Acknowledgement of the reporter, if they want it.
